Yes. Every version is scanned before it is published by our own engine, which combines ClamAV and YARA rules. The result is shown on each item’s page, with the number of files analyzed, the engine version and the scan date. Right now that is 23,926 clean items across the catalog, with no confirmed malicious code to date.

Yes, in one specific place: the license check. The item is delivered ready to run without an activation key from the developer. Modifying a program received under the GPL and redistributing the modified version is one of the rights the license grants, alongside the right to use, study and copy it. We never add anything: no injected advertising, no trackers, no code of our own and no remote access to your site.
