Ask AI agents to check and update your Facebook Feed settings through the WordPress Abilities API (WordPress 6.9 or later). Changes made by an AI agent are off by default; turn on MCP Write Access under Settings > General to allow them. Feed deletions always need your confirmation in the browser. Now in all six Smash Balloon feed plugins. [See them all]
Fixed
Feed Analytics now counts clicks on Reels opened in Swipe View.
The lightbox now shows every item when you move through a feed with Next and Prev, and album thumbnails load again.
With Optimize Images on, every photo in an album or multi-image post now shows its own image instead of repeating the first one.

New
Reels can now open in a full-screen, swipeable player. Turn on Swipe View for Reels under Settings > Advanced; every other post keeps opening the lightbox as before.
An admin notice now warns you when a feed has been showing an old saved copy of your Facebook posts for several days because it can't fetch fresh content, and the weekly Feed Issue Email Report now covers this case too.
Added a Data Sharing settings tab where you can opt in to anonymous data sharing and in-plugin notifications.
Improved
Refreshed the About Us page.
Fixed
Facebook source errors are now reported more accurately. Rate limits no longer show a false "Source Invalid" or reconnect prompt, a problem on one source is still reported when another is only being rate-limited, and feeds from a Facebook Page you don't manage are flagged as invalid again in the feed builder. Facebook API errors also come with clearer guidance on what to do.
A Facebook source that starts working again now clears its own error, so the critical-issue notice, admin menu badge, Site Health warning and weekly issue email no longer stay on for a problem that has been resolved. When the plugin does report a critical issue, the settings page now explains it.
The "Action Required Within 7 Days" data-deletion warning now only appears while that deletion is actually scheduled, and the Settings page no longer fails to load on sites with an older stored error.
GDPR mode now serves album and multi-image post images from local copies before consent, detects Borlabs Cookie 3.x consent, and reliably blocks the Facebook CDN in "Automatic" mode.
The Smash Balloon logo is back on the left of the Settings page header.
Dismissed in-plugin notifications no longer reappear after a page reload.
Plugin security hardening.
4.12.0
2 improvements
Improved
Confirmed compatibility with WordPress 7.1.
The feed builder and the Facebook feed are now far more accessible to keyboard and screen reader users, meeting WCAG 2.1 AA. Selector cards, the comments toggle, load more and the slider arrows can all be reached and operated by keyboard with visible focus; the lightbox keeps focus inside it, closes with Escape, returns focus to the post you opened, and describes each image as you move through the feed; posts, reaction counts and like counts announce themselves properly to screen readers; links that open a new tab say so; and decorative icons and avatars are hidden from screen readers.
4.11.0
1 new1 improvement
New
Facebook Events feeds can now be connected using your own Facebook App, which fetches your Pages automatically — no more looking up and pasting an iCal URL.
Improved
The iCal URL option has been removed from the feed builder and the Manage Sources screen. Existing event feeds set up with an iCal URL keep displaying as before, but the URL can no longer be added or changed from the admin — if one stops working, reconnect the feed using your own Facebook App instead.
