Description
The BuddyPress add-on connects the BuddyPress social network to AutomatorWP, turning member actions — like creating forum topics, sending private messages, updating the profile, joining groups, and posting to the activity feed — into triggers for automations in the visual builder. With this component, communities reward real interactions and trigger automatic workflows whenever a member completes a social goal within the site.
Key Features
- Social activity triggers: triggers automations when a user posts to the feed, comments, or receives likes on a BuddyPress activity.
- Group events: reacts to group creation, joining, or leaving, enabling rewards for community engagement.
- Forum interactions: recognizes topic creation, replies, and participation in discussions within the network.
- Member connections: identifies friend requests and acceptances, private messages sent, and mentions between profiles.
- Automated actions: allows adding users to groups, sending internal messages, and updating profile data in response to other AutomatorWP triggers.
BuddyPress Benefits
- Ongoing engagement: rewards members for participating in the community without requiring manual intervention from the administrator.
- Integrated gamification: connects social activities to points, achievements, and levels when combined with other AutomatorWP components.
- Automated communication: sends internal messages and adds users to groups based on detected behaviors.
- Cross-workflows: allows actions in BuddyPress to trigger reactions in WooCommerce, LearnDash, Gravity Forms, and other ecosystem integrations.

How to install
Automatic updates: this item is updated by the Ultrapack Auto Updater. With it installed, the new version shows up in your dashboard like any other WordPress update (how to set it up).
This item is an add-on for the AutomatorWP plugin. Installed on its own it throws no error, but it does not work either.
- Install and activate the AutomatorWP plugin before this one.
- Download the file
automatorwp-buddypress.zip. - In the WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.
- Select the file
automatorwp-buddypress.zip, click Install Now and then Activate.
- Both stay active at the same time. Deactivating the AutomatorWP plugin turns this add-on off with it.
- An add-on settings usually show up inside the main plugin screens, not in a menu of their own. If you find nothing new in the dashboard after activating, look there before opening a ticket.
