Description
The Button add-on adds button-click triggering to AutomatorWP, turning simple visitor interactions into a starting point for any flow configured in the plugin. You insert buttons into pages, posts, or widgets through its own shortcode or by marking HTML elements with the automatorwp-button class and the data-trigger attribute, chaining actions such as sending webhooks, enrolling users in LearnDash courses, or granting access in MemberPress.
Key Features
- Button-click trigger: triggers AutomatorWP automations when a visitor or logged-in user clicks the configured button.
- Dedicated shortcode: inserts buttons into any WordPress page, post, or widget area, with attributes to link the trigger.
- Customizable attributes: define the button label, HTML identifier, CSS classes, and
onclickcode directly in the shortcode. - Support for custom HTML elements: any element with the
automatorwp-buttonclass and thedata-triggerattribute will trigger the corresponding automation. - Theme compatibility: buttons inherit the styling of the active theme, maintaining the site’s visual consistency.
Benefits of Button
- Clicks that become flows: connect a visible action on the user’s screen to sequences of AutomatorWP actions without writing code.
- Flexible insertion: place the button on landing pages, member areas, sidebars, or anywhere shortcodes are accepted.
- Markup reuse: reuse buttons already present in the layout by adding only the class and the
data-triggerattribute. - Leverage the ecosystem: use the hundreds of actions available in other AutomatorWP add-ons as the click destination.
Who Is It For?
- Membership sites, courses, and communities that need to turn CTAs into real automations.
- Marketing professionals who want to trigger webhooks, update tags, and log events from page clicks.
- Developers and administrators who already use AutomatorWP and want to trigger flows from the site’s interface, rather than only from internal WordPress events.
The Button add-on is recommended for those who use AutomatorWP as an automation engine and need front-end clicks to be part of these flows, connecting the site’s interface to the actions of the platform’s other add-ons.
