Easy Digital Downloads Duplicate Downloads

Description

The addon Duplicate Downloads adds a duplicate link to the Easy Digital Downloads product listing, cloning each item (files, price, categories, tags and variation settings) with a single click as a separate draft. It is aimed at store owners who sell similar variations of e-books, plugins, themes, presets or licenses and need to create new entries by reusing the structure of an already configured product, without redoing the entire manual entry for each new launch in the catalog.

Key Features

• Duplicate button in listing
Includes a clone action directly on the Downloads listing screen in the dashboard.
• Full metadata copy
Replicates title, description, prices, taxonomies and custom fields of the original product.
• Draft creation
The clone is saved as a draft, preventing accidental publication before adjustments.
• Preservation of files and variations
Maintains references to digital files and price variations configured in the base product.
• Native integration with EDD admin
Works within the standard Downloads management flow, with no new screens.

Benefits of Duplicate Downloads

• Faster onboarding
Reduces the time spent inserting similar products in stores with a recurring catalog.
• Catalog standardization
Ensures consistency of fields, taxonomies and formatting among products derived from a template.
• Fewer operational errors
Avoids configuration oversights when replicating the full base of an active item.
• Scale for series releases
Facilitates the creation of packages, special editions and alternative versions from a parent product.

Who Is Recommended For?

• Store owners using EDD with an extensive catalog of similar digital products.
• Pack, bundle and alternative edition sellers who start from a base product.
• Agencies and managers who maintain multiple digital stores and replicate items between them.

For operators of Easy Digital Downloads stores with a frequent cadence of new items, the component accelerates product entry by reusing the already configured base, eliminating repetitive work of filling identical fields. Draft creation preserves the originally published product, allowing the store owner to adjust only what changes in the clone before publishing it and keeping the catalog coherent.
