What changed in this version
Version 7.4.1
- Improved: US conversions use measures a cook actually has: cups in 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, 2/3 and 3/4, tablespoons or teaspoons for smaller amounts ("7 tbsp" instead of "0.44 cup"), ounces to the half (whole ounces from 8 oz) and pounds to the quarter.
- Improved: Metric weights of flour, sugar, butter, oats, spices, nuts, chocolate chips and grated cheese now convert to cups or spoons for US readers ("250 g flour" becomes "2 cups", "5 g salt" becomes "1 tsp"). Meat, fish, cheese blocks and chocolate bars stay in ounces and pounds.
- Fixed: "Convert All Ingredients" could copy one ingredient's converted amount onto another, for example "2 tbsp" appearing on an ingredient with no unit. It happened when Bulk Add had given two ingredients the same internal ID. Bulk Add now always creates unique IDs, and converting repairs recipes that already have duplicates.
- Fixed: Bulk Add no longer reads a leading percentage as the amount ("70% dark chocolate" stays the ingredient name).
Version 7.4.0
- New: "Convert with AI" button next to "Convert All Ingredients". It converts the whole ingredient list in one request and uses each ingredient's name to choose grams or milliliters and a realistic weight.
- Improved: Unit Conversion now weighs everything measured in cups except clear liquids, so "1 cup quinoa" becomes 170 g instead of 236.59 ml. Liquids, sauces and dressings still convert to ml.
- Improved: Converted metric amounts are rounded to kitchen-friendly numbers (235 ml, 60 ml, 55 g), and large amounts switch to kg or l.
- Improved: The converted amount and unit are now plain editable fields instead of a unit dropdown, so any value can be corrected by typing.
- Fixed: Ingredients with units that don't convert, such as "pinch" or "clove", no longer lose their unit in the converted view.
- Fixed: Unit Conversion now uses the plugin-wide default unit system when a recipe has none of its own.
- Fixed: More unit spellings are recognized for conversion, including "c", "fluid ounce", "millilitre", "litre" and "gramme".
- Fixed: Ingredient names with links or other formatting no longer show raw HTML in the unit conversion view of the editor.
- Fixed: On non-English sites, units are no longer changed to English plurals, so a Dutch "400 gram" stays "400 gram" instead of becoming "400 grams". Plurals are used only when a translation provides them. The new `wpzoom_rcb_pluralize_ingredient_units` filter turns unit plurals off completely.
- Fixed: Bulk Add now puts fraction characters such as "¼", "½" or "1½" in the amount field instead of leaving the whole line in the ingredient name.
Version 7.3.0
- New: AI Assistant tab under Recipe Cards > Settings. It connects your recipes to Yamidoo, a free AI chat that answers readers' questions about the recipe they are on: substitutions with amounts, scaling, unit conversions, timing and storage. One button installs and activates the Yamidoo plugin from WordPress.org.
- New: "Ask about this recipe" button in the recipe card, just above the ingredients. It opens the chat with that recipe already in context and the question started for the reader. It is switched on automatically when Yamidoo is activated, and stays hidden on sites without it.
- Improved: The AI Settings tab now explains that its settings control the AI Recipe Generator, and links to AI credits.
- Fixed: Recipe card styles now load for recipes inserted with the `[wpzoom_rcb_post]` shortcode or the Elementor recipe widgets.
- Fixed: Adjustable servings now work with a serving range such as "2-3".
