What changed in this version
Version 4.5.3
- Product gallery, Vertical Slider: a new option, Theme Options > Shop > Single Product > Horizontal Thumbnails On, extends the horizontal layout the thumbnails strip takes on mobile to tablets as well. On a tablet held upright (768-991px) the gallery still shares the row with the product summary, and the vertical thumbnails column took a quarter of that narrow gallery column. With Tablet & Mobile selected the strip goes under the main image there too, and turns vertical again from 992px; the default, Mobile, keeps the layout as it was. The Pinterest for WooCommerce save button follows, it is only moved past the thumbnails column on the screens the column is on. Developers: the body carries single-product-slider-thumbs-hoz-on-{mobile|tablet}, the gallery wrapper thumbs-slider-horizontal-on-{mobile|tablet}; child themes overriding woocommerce/single-product/product-image-slider.php should copy the new template.
- Cart drawer product recommendations: every suggested product can now carry an add to cart button, so a product goes into the cart without leaving the drawer. Variable and grouped products, which need an option picked first, link to their own page instead, and an external product to its seller - each under the label WooCommerce gives it. The button is on wherever the panel itself is enabled; switch it off under Theme Options > Shop > Cart > Cart Drawer > Add To Cart Button. It adds without reloading the page whether or not WooCommerce's own "Enable AJAX add to cart buttons on archives" setting is on, the product just added drops out of the suggestions, and a screen reader hears that it went in.
- Cart drawer: adding a product to the cart while the drawer was already open ran the whole opening routine a second time. Keyboard focus was thrown onto the drawer's close button, the page shifted sideways by the width of the scrollbar wherever scrollbars take up room, and a drawer the customer had just closed slid back out when the reply arrived. Opening steps now run only on the way in, and a drawer closed on purpose stays closed.
- Cart drawer: a quantity change the server answered with an error or with a page that is no cart at all - a login page, a firewall's block page - or did not answer at all, left the drawer behind its loading overlay until the page was reloaded - closing and reopening it did not help. The drawer now unlocks, and shows the quantity the cart really holds wherever the cart can still be read.
- Add to cart on product pages, quick view and variation buttons: when the request failed or its reply was lost, nothing on the page changed - even where the product had gone into the cart all the same - and the button was still flagged as added. The cart is now read again after a failed request, so a product that did go in shows up in the cart icon, and the button is only flagged once the add went through - not after a failed request, and not after one the store refused.
- Theme Options: deleting every item of a repeating field - Marque List, Info List, Social Networks, Popular search keywords, Info List (Secondary) - and saving reported success, but the items the theme ships with were back on the next page load. A field with no item left sent nothing at all, so the panel read it as a field that had never been given a value and wrote those items to the database again on the following admin request. An emptied field stays empty now, and a field emptied this way no longer prints an item on the site either.
- Top bar: an item kept in the Marque List with its text cleared still printed the slider around it, which went on taking up room beside the other components of its column - the Text among them - with nothing to show. Items without text are left out now, and a Marque List with nothing left to show prints nothing at all.
- Upgrade notes
- Stores that already show the cart drawer recommendations will see an add to cart button appear on each suggestion after this update, since the new setting starts on; turn it off under Theme Options > Shop > Cart > Cart Drawer > Add To Cart Button.
- If your child theme overrides woocommerce/cart/fly-cart-recommendations.php or woocommerce/custom/content-widget-product.php, copy the changes from the parent templates; without them the button never renders.

- Improved
- Cart: the requests the theme sends from product pages, quick view and the cart drawer - add to cart, remove, quantity, coupon, shipping, order notes - and the cart refresh now run one at a time; the cart page's own form is unchanged. Two of them running at once read and wrote the same cart session, so a slower reply could put an older cart back on screen over a newer one, and one of two quick adds could be lost. A redirect that follows an add - to the cart page, or to checkout from Buy Now - waits for the requests already accepted to finish first.
Version 4.5.2
- Checkout: on the pay for order page, choosing a payment method that brings its own place order button - the wallet and express buttons - lost that button two seconds later, while the standard button stayed hidden behind it, so nothing was left to pay with until the method was chosen again. The theme refreshes the checkout two seconds after a payment method or address changes, for the Advanced Discounts plugin; that refresh now runs only on the checkout form, where something answers it, and the button is only taken down where the refresh renders it back.
- Variation galleries (WooCommerce 11.1): a gallery built with the theme's field that held the variation's own image, or the parent product image, further down its list had that image replaced on the first save through WooCommerce's gallery field - the first gallery image became the variation image. The theme now hands WooCommerce the gallery without that image, which WooCommerce places first itself, so the variation image stays what it was.
- Variation galleries: WooCommerce renders the product gallery once per variation for its own script, and the theme took that render for the page's own, so a variable product shown away from its page - a bundled item, a card in the product list 02 layout, an Elementor product widget - still carried variation slide markup nothing could use on stores with the Slider product images style. WooCommerce's own renders are told apart from the page's now.
- Variation galleries: the swap to a variation's own images now also works for variable subscriptions and other product types built on WooCommerce's variable product; the Slider gallery left those without the copy of the product gallery it swaps back to.
- Variable products: clearing the options put keyboard focus past any text swatches, because a text swatch cannot take focus - onto the next attribute's swatch or dropdown, or, where every attribute is a text swatch, off the form to the top of the page. Focus lands on the first visible attribute control now, a text swatch included.
- Shop sidebar: with the toolbar above the content and sidebar and the Sidebar 1 Mobile Toggle set to Toolbar left, a page without products - a search with no results, a category listing only its sub categories - printed neither button, since WooCommerce leaves out the part of the toolbar that button sits in. The floating button steps in there again.
- Cached theme CSS: the stylesheet cache is keyed by the settings presets the theme actually applied to the request, as recorded when it applies them, instead of by the names on the query string. Previewing a page that carries a Settings Preset in the Customizer could store that preset's stylesheet under the key every visitor reads, and on the demo sites a preset name typed in another case was keyed as the preset without its options applied; both readings are one now. The Customizer preview no longer reads or writes that cache either: its stylesheet is built from the values being edited, so the preview follows them, and a copy holding unsaved values can no longer be stored for visitors.
- Theme Options colours: hsl and hsla values are stored as hex and rgba, the forms the picker writes, so the colours the theme derives from them - the tint behind an active product tab among them - follow; a hue past 360 wraps around as it does in CSS; and only the CSS colour names pass as bare words, so a typo keeps the previously saved colour instead of being printed as one.
- Upgrade notes
- The constant Minimog\Woo\Archive_Product::SIDEBAR_FILTERS has been unused since 4.5.1 and is deprecated; it will be removed in a later release. The shop sidebar is resolved through Minimog_Global::get_sidebar_1.
- WPC Product Bundles keeps the variation data of bundled products in a cache of its own for up to seven days; where the plugin's own bundled items output is used rather than the theme's, the slimmer variation data arrives once that cache refreshes.
Version 4.5.1
- Shop sidebar: with Sidebar 1 Off-Canvas set to Only Mobile, the filters button can sit in the shop toolbar instead of floating at the screen edge; pick the mode under Theme Options > Shop > Archive Product > Sidebar 1 Mobile Toggle (Floating stays the default). The floating button steps in on pages without a toolbar, and neither is printed when Sidebar 1 is None (new filter minimog/page_sidebar/1/off_sidebar/floating_button, and /2/).
- Variation galleries (WooCommerce 11.1): WooCommerce now prints a variation gallery field of its own, which left two fields of the same name in every variation row, and images added through WooCommerce's never reached the shop. The theme reads that field now and prints no second one; existing galleries keep working, show up inside the WooCommerce field, and move across the first time the variation is saved there. Where WooCommerce has no such field - below 10.9, or 10.9 to 11.0 with the feature off - the theme keeps its own, which now edits and clears either store.
- Variation galleries: picking a variation opened the gallery on the slide the previous one had left, and returning to a variation without a gallery left the main image and the thumbnail beside it showing two different images, with no thumbnail marked as current. Swapping the gallery for a variation's own images applies to products shown with the Slider product images style, as before; Carousel and Grid keep the product's gallery, and no longer carry the slide markup they never used (filter minimog/variation_gallery/layout_swaps_gallery for a custom style that renders the theme's gallery copy).
- Checkout: payment methods that bring their own place order button, the wallet and express buttons among them, never showed it, and the standard Place order button stayed put.
- Checkout: address suggestion extensions recalculated the order on every keystroke they wrote; it updates once now, when the shopper leaves the field. Opening the login form scrolls it into view.
- Variable products: clearing the options said nothing to a screen reader, and could not be done from the keyboard on the swatches layout. Clearing is announced, focus returns to the first option, and Enter or Space works on Clear. The swatches layout now fires woocommerce_after_variations_table as well, which extensions hook and which only WooCommerce's own layout fired before.
- Quantity selector: the minus button now precedes the number in the markup, so tab and screen reader order match the screen, and both buttons carry labels.
- Theme Options colours (Redux 4.5.14): every colour in Theme Options was emptied on save and reported as "Invalid HTML color code . Please enter a valid code. No value was saved.", because Redux began checking colours against plain hex codes while its own picker writes them as rgb and rgba. It emptied them whether the field had been touched or not, so one save of the panel could clear colours across every tab. The theme validates its colour fields itself now: it takes hex, rgb, rgba, hsl, hsla and the CSS colour names, and where a value really is not a colour it keeps the one already saved rather than clearing it. A colour with no transparency is stored as hex from here on, which is also what the picker means by it - the theme reads a stored rgb either way now, so the tint behind an active product tab is the brand colour again on sites whose Primary Color had been saved through the picker, where it had been coming out black.
- An empty colour option now falls back to the theme's own colour. The site colours are handed to the stylesheet as custom properties, and an option holding nothing printed an empty one, which is not a valid declaration and left everything drawn in that colour with no colour at all rather than the theme's. This is how a site looked wherever Redux 4.5.14 had emptied a colour.
- Cached theme CSS: the two settings preset names were read straight off the query string into the cache key for it, so any visitor could put their own words there and have the site store another copy of the same stylesheet, one wp_options row per word. The names are only ever set by the theme itself, on the demo sites, and are read as such now; a name that does not belong to a preset is ignored. The key carries the theme version as well, so an update to the generated CSS reaches a site at once instead of waiting up to a week for the stored copy to lapse.
- Upgrade notes
- A variation moved across to WooCommerce's gallery will not show it on Minimog 4.5.0 or older, which reads only the theme's own storage; the images remain, and are listed in the WooCommerce field.
- Saving a variation through WooCommerce's gallery field also writes its variation image: its own where it has one, otherwise the parent product image, and only failing both the first gallery image.
- Anything relying on the copies of the gallery WooCommerce leaves in the page for its own variation script - a custom script, or a child theme reading them - should return true from minimog/variation_gallery/keep_core_html, which puts them back.
- Colours emptied by Redux 4.5.14 before this update do not come back with it - the theme stops it happening from here on, it cannot recover what was already cleared. What it does do is draw those places in its own default colour again instead of leaving them with none, so the site reads properly the moment you update. To get your own colours back, look over Theme Options and re-pick anything that has gone blank, or restore a backup under Theme Options > Import / Export; Reset Section puts a whole section back to the theme defaults.

- Improved
- Variable product pages ship less markup. WooCommerce's per-variation gallery copies, and the two spare copies it leaves where it renders the add to cart form itself, are all for its own variation script, which this theme replaces - 35 KB off a page carrying two variation galleries, 68 KB with the WooCommerce form. Galleries held in the theme's own storage are no longer rendered and discarded either, and their images load in one pass (24 database queries down to 14 on a product with three). New filter minimog/variation_gallery/keep_core_html restores the markup for anyone running WooCommerce's script.
