Description
The bbPress addon integrates the bbPress forum into Ultimate Member profiles, displaying topics created, posted replies, and activity statistics for each user in a dedicated profile tab. It’s for those running communities with a members area and a discussion forum, and need to unify visual identity, role-based permissions, and navigation between the two environments without keeping two parallel systems running side by side.
bbPress Key Features
- Forum tab in the profile
Adds a section within the Ultimate Member profile dedicated to bbPress activity. - Topics created by the user
Lists the topics the member opened, with direct links to each discussion. - Posted replies
Shows the user’s reply history in other forum topics. - Favorite topics and subscriptions
Displays the discussions the member favorited or subscribed to in order to keep track. - Participation statistics
Shows numbers of topics, replies, and overall engagement in the profile.
bbPress Benefits
- Centralized engagement in the profile
The member finds all their forum activity without leaving their own profile. - Consistent visual identity
The forum now matches the layout and colors defined in Ultimate Member. - Recognition of active members
Visitors can immediately see who contributes the most to the community. - Less parallel administration
Registration, login, and permissions follow the same flow as members, avoiding duplication.
Who Is bbPress Intended For?
- Anyone who maintains a members area in Ultimate Member and wants to add a discussion forum as a community layer.
- You who already have bbPress installed and need the forum activity to appear within each member’s profiles.
- Those who manage niche communities, subscription clubs, or professional networks that rely on continuous exchange between participants.
How to Download bbPress
The bbPress is available for download here on Ultrapack. After downloading the .zip file, install it in Plugins > Add New > Upload plugin, select the file, and activate it. Remember to keep the Ultimate Member and the base bbPress active so the forum tab appears correctly in members’ profiles.
For communities that already use Ultimate Member as the registration and profile layer, the bbPress addon removes the separation between the forum and the members area: participation history now lives in the same card where the avatar, bio, and social data are shown. The result is a cohesive browsing experience for the member and less parallel maintenance for whoever manages the community.

How to install
Automatic updates: this item is updated by the Ultrapack Auto Updater. With it installed, the new version shows up in your dashboard like any other WordPress update (how to set it up).
This item is an add-on for the Ultimate Member plugin. Installed on its own it throws no error, but it does not work either.
- Install and activate the Ultimate Member plugin before this one.
- Download the file
um-bbpress.zip. - In the WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.
- Select the file
um-bbpress.zip, click Install Now and then Activate.
Requirements: Requires WordPress 5.5 or higher and PHP 5.6 or higher. Tested up to WordPress 6.7.
- Both stay active at the same time. Deactivating the Ultimate Member plugin turns this add-on off with it.
- An add-on settings usually show up inside the main plugin screens, not in a menu of their own. If you find nothing new in the dashboard after activating, look there before opening a ticket.
