Description
The Deposits addon adds to WooCommerce the option to charge a partial amount or deposit at checkout, with the remaining balance recorded as a future payment. Designed for those who sell high-ticket products, reservations, custom-made furniture, or scheduled services, it allows you to set the deposit amount as a percentage or fixed amount per product, category, or globally, increasing conversions among customers who hesitate to pay the full amount upfront.
Main Features of Deposits
- Percentage-based or fixed-amount deposit
Sets the product deposit as a percentage of the sale or an exact monetary amount. - Per-product or global configuration
Applies deposit rules individually to each item or by default across the entire store. - Installment payment plans
Structures installments with defined dates and amounts for the customer to pay off the remaining balance. - Outstanding balance recorded in the order
Tracks the amount receivable within WooCommerce’s own order workflow. - Optional or required deposit
Allows you to choose whether the customer decides to pay the deposit or whether it is required for the product.
Benefits of Deposits
- More high-ticket conversions
Reduces the initial financial objection and closes sales that would otherwise end in cart abandonment. - Upfront cash flow
Secures revenue before the product is delivered or the service is provided. - Viable reservations and pre-orders
Enables business models that rely on a deposit to confirm appointments and orders. - Flexible shopping experience
Gives customers the freedom to choose between paying in full or in installments through the store dashboard.
Who Is Deposits Recommended For?
- Those who sell custom furniture, jewelry, equipment, or high-value products that require a deposit before delivery.
- Designed for those who work with reservations, appointments, accommodations, or venue rentals and need to charge a deposit at confirmation.
- Designed for those who offer on-demand services (events, courses, custom projects) with payments divided into stages.
How to Download Deposits
Deposits is available for download here at Ultrapack. After downloading the .zip file, install it under Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin, select the file, and activate it. After activation, the deposit options will appear in the tab for each product edited in WooCommerce.
By natively integrating partial payments into the WooCommerce checkout flow, Deposits opens the way for sales models that rely on deposits, manual installments, or advance reservations. Balance management remains within the standard order dashboard, without requiring separate spreadsheets or payment collection outside the store environment, keeping the customer and the operation on the same information track.
