Description
The QR Code addon adds to AutomatorWP a custom QR code generator and a trigger that fires automations when a user scans the code linked to your site. With it, you create reward flows, event check-ins, offline coupon distribution, and campaign activations that connect the physical world to AutomatorWP automations on any WordPress page.
Features
- QR code generator: produces unique QR images linked to URLs, user identifiers or custom parameters directly in the dashboard.
- Read trigger: starts an AutomatorWP automation every time a QR Code is scanned by a visitor or logged-in user.
- Visual customization: adjusts color, size, margin and allows inserting a central logo into the generated QR image.
- Flexible content insertion: displays the QR Code on pages, posts or emails via shortcode and editor-compatible blocks.
- Linking with other addons: combines the read trigger with course actions, rewards, email marketing and CRMs already supported by AutomatorWP.
QR Code Benefits
- Bridge between offline and online: transforms printed materials, badges and physical products into entry points for site automations.
- Automated check-ins: records attendance, scans or interactions with no forms, just by scanning the code.
- Campaign tracking: identifies which items, locations or channels generated each interaction when using distinct QR Codes per source.
- Gamified engagement: awards points, badges or exclusive content when a user scans codes spread across promotional activities.
Target Audience
- Event, talk and workshop organizers who need to validate attendance and trigger automatic messages after check-in.
- Marketing teams who distribute printed materials, packaging or displays and want to measure conversion through automations.
- Course platforms, loyalty programs and communities that reward actions taken in physical environments.
Recommended for those who already use AutomatorWP and want to extend their automations to the physical world, triggering flows directly from QR Code scans at events, campaigns and printed materials.

How to install
Automatic updates: this item is updated by the Ultrapack Auto Updater. With it installed, the new version shows up in your dashboard like any other WordPress update (how to set it up).
This item is an add-on for the AutomatorWP plugin. Installed on its own it throws no error, but it does not work either.
- Install and activate the AutomatorWP plugin before this one.
- Download the file
automatorwp-qr-code.zip. - In the WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.
- Select the file
automatorwp-qr-code.zip, click Install Now and then Activate.
- Both stay active at the same time. Deactivating the AutomatorWP plugin turns this add-on off with it.
- An add-on settings usually show up inside the main plugin screens, not in a menu of their own. If you find nothing new in the dashboard after activating, look there before opening a ticket.
