Description
The wpForo addon connects forum activity managed by wpForo to AutomatorWP workflows, triggering hooks when users create topics, reply to discussions, liked or voted on posts, and answer questions within the community. This extension works only as an event source — it does not add actions in AutomatorWP — and is intended for administrators who want to reward forum engagement with points, badges, ranks, or achievements for every interaction logged.
Key Features
- Topic creation trigger: fires automations when a user opens a new topic in any wpForo forum.
- Topic reply trigger: records each time a user replies to an existing discussion, feeding scoring or notification flows.
- Like and dislike triggers (Pro): reacts when a post receives or gains a like or dislike, distinguishing the event from the person who gave the reaction and from the one who received it.
- Post voting triggers (Pro): captures positive and negative votes given or received on replies within a topic.
- Question and answer triggers (Pro): identifies when a user answers a question in the forum or has their question answered by another member.
Benefits of wpForo
- Forum gamification: turns every interaction into input for awarding points, achievements, or ranks via AutomatorWP.
- Encouraging participation: rewards users who open topics and reply to discussions, boosting the volume of content generated by the community.
- Recognition of helpful answers: allows rewarding those who receive positive votes, likes, or who get their questions answered, valuing qualified contributions.
- Integration with the AutomatorWP ecosystem: combines forum events with triggers and actions from other addons, chaining flows between forum, email, LMS, and membership.
Recommended For
- Community administrators building online communities with wpForo who seek to automate rewards for engagement.
- Course sites, associations, and subscription clubs that use the forum as the central discussion space.
- Gamification program managers who want to use forum activity as a scoring signal within AutomatorWP.
Ideal for those maintaining forums with wpForo and looking to turn topics, replies, likes, and votes into automation triggers within AutomatorWP, without relying on custom code.

How to install
Automatic updates: this item is updated by the Ultrapack Auto Updater. With it installed, the new version shows up in your dashboard like any other WordPress update (how to set it up).
This item is an add-on for the AutomatorWP plugin. Installed on its own it throws no error, but it does not work either.
- Install and activate the AutomatorWP plugin before this one.
- Download the file
automatorwp-wpforo.zip. - In the WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.
- Select the file
automatorwp-wpforo.zip, click Install Now and then Activate.
- Both stay active at the same time. Deactivating the AutomatorWP plugin turns this add-on off with it.
- An add-on settings usually show up inside the main plugin screens, not in a menu of their own. If you find nothing new in the dashboard after activating, look there before opening a ticket.
