Description
The addon Schedule Indexer transfers the reindexing process from FacetWP to background execution via cron, avoiding load spikes during post saving or mass updates. Designed for sites with large volumes of filterable content, the addon keeps facet indices updated on scheduled times, without locking the admin panel or harming the front-end user experience.
Main Features
- Scheduled Indexing via cron
Executes facet index reconstruction at defined times outside the edit workflow. - Background Processing
Moves heavy tasks to asynchronous jobs, freeing the admin panel for other actions. - Frequency Control
Sets reindexing frequency according to the site’s content update rhythm. - Native compatibility with FacetWP
Integrates with the base plugin’s default index engine without requiring additional configuration. - Reduced load during edits
Avoids each post being saved from triggering full real-time reindexing.
Benefits of the Schedule Indexer
- Faster admin panel
Editors publish and update content without waiting for reindexing to finish. - Stability on large sites
Maintains predictable performance even with thousands of posts and many facets configured. - Lower resource usage at peak
Concentrates processing during low-demands windows, easing CPU and database strain. - Always up-to-date filters
Ensures the facet index reflects recent content according to the schedule.
Who is it for?
- Sites with high volume of posts and filterable facets in FacetWP.
- Editorial portals and directories with frequent publications that need to keep admin responsive.
- Stores, marketplaces, and listings that rely on updated filters without compromising performance.
In environments where FacetWP manages many facets across large content collections, the addon Schedule Indexer organizes index maintenance in scheduled cycles, separating the heavy step from the daily editorial workflow. It is a practical choice for teams that need precise front-end filters without sacrificing panel fluidity and server stability.
