Installation Guide

You can install WordPress themes and plugins through Ultrapack Auto Updater (UAU) or manually. Elementor template kits are imported through the Template Kits tab and have their own process.

Before you start, check the How to install tab on the item page. It explains dependencies, parent and child themes, the correct file within a package and other item-specific instructions.

Install themes and plugins through the UAU Catalog

  1. Install and activate Ultrapack Auto Updater in WordPress and connect the site to your account. Follow the steps in the UAU documentation.
  2. Open UAU in your WordPress dashboard, go to Catalog and select Themes or Plugins.
  3. If the item is an add-on or requires a free version, install and activate the main plugin identified on the item page first.
  4. Find the item by name, click Install when that button is available, and wait for the installation to finish. You do not need to download or extract the ZIP manually with this method.
  5. A theme is installed without changing the active theme. To use it, go to Appearance > Themes and activate the theme you want. If there is a parent and child theme, install both and activate only the child.
  6. For individual plugin installations, UAU tries to activate the plugin when it finishes. If a dependency is missing, follow the warning, install and activate the main plugin, then activate the add-on under Plugins.

Your account needs access to the item. Installing through the Catalog uses your account's download quota. If you only see Download from the website, or installation is not available in the Catalog, use the appropriate manual method below.

Import Elementor kits through UAU

An Elementor kit contains page templates and styles. It is neither a theme nor a plugin to upload through the WordPress installation screen.

  1. With UAU installed and the site connected to your account, open Template Kits > Explore.
  2. Find the kit by name, click Install kit and wait. UAU downloads and prepares the files.
  3. On the kit screen, check Plugins the kit uses and install or activate the required plugins, including Elementor. If the kit requires Elementor Pro, activate it too.
  4. If the option is available and you want to use the kit's colors and fonts, click Apply the kit's styles. This step is optional and changes the global Elementor styles on your site.
  5. Click Import on the templates you want, or click Import all. The templates are added to the Elementor library, and their images are imported into your site.
  6. For page templates, use Create page to create a draft. Open it in Elementor, edit the content and publish it when ready.

Installing a kit uses 1 download from your daily quota and requires an account with access to it. Imported templates do not receive automatic updates through the WordPress Themes or Plugins screen.

Install a theme manually

  1. Download the file from the theme page. If it is already the installable ZIP, use that file. If it is the author's full package, extract it on your computer and find the theme's own ZIP inside.
  2. If the package only contains the theme folder, find the folder with style.css and, usually, screenshot.png or screenshot.jpg. Compress only that folder as a ZIP, not a RAR.
  3. In WordPress, go to Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload Theme, select the installable ZIP and click Install Now. Do not upload the author's full package.
  4. Activate the theme under Appearance > Themes. If there is a parent and child theme, install both and activate only the child.

As an alternative to uploading through the dashboard, you can upload the theme folder by FTP to wp-content/themes/ and activate it under Appearance > Themes. Follow the item's How to install tab to identify the correct folder.

Install a plugin manually

  1. Download the file from the plugin page. If it is the author's package, extract it and find the installable ZIP identified in How to install.
  2. Install and activate the main plugin or free version first when the item depends on it.
  3. Go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin, select the installable ZIP and click Install Now. Then click Activate.

For packages with multiple plugins, folders that need to be compressed and item-specific activation instructions, follow the guide on the item page.

Import kits and templates without UAU

Kits in Envato format

  1. Install and activate Elementor and the Template Kit Import plugin.
  2. Download the kit ZIP. In WordPress, open Template Kits > Import Kit and upload the file.
  3. Install the plugins required by the kit, choose the templates you want to import and confirm. Then use the templates from the Elementor library on your pages.

Elementor JSON templates, such as Elementorism

These files can be imported directly through Elementor. Open Templates > Saved Templates > Import Templates and upload the ZIP or JSON as explained in the item's How to install tab. In Elementor 4, the templates menu is under Elementor. Template Kit Import requires the Envato kit format and should not be used for a package containing only page JSON files.

Updates and help

Check the Auto Updater field on the item page to find out whether it offers updates through UAU. Installing an item and activating a license are separate steps: also follow the activation notices on the product page.

If you get stuck, open a support ticket with the item link and the full error message. This helps identify the file and the step where the problem occurred.
