Description
The RSVP Events Waitlist add-on creates a waitlist for EventON events when maximum capacity is reached, automatically registering extra guests and offering released spots to the next person in line. The extension connects to EventON RSVP by adding a wait notice to the public form, dashboard tools to move people between confirmed and waiting status, and a dedicated email trigger only for guests on the waitlist.
Key Features
- Automatic waitlist
Routes the guest to the queue when the RSVP reaches the capacity configured for the event. - Automatic spot release
Offers the vacant spot to the next person in line as soon as a confirmed guest cancels attendance. - Admin management
Marks guests on the waitlist on the event edit page and allows moving them to the attendee list. - Visible front-end notice
Shows the queue counter on the event card and displays a specific message on the RSVP form. - Targeted email for the queue
Sends communications exclusively to guests on the waitlist from the event dashboard.
Benefits of RSVP Events Waitlist
- Captured excess demand
Keeps interested people registered even after official spots have sold out. - Replacement without manual intervention
Reduces the organizer’s work by automatically filling cancellations according to queue order. - Transparency for the public
Allows visitors to decide whether to join the queue by seeing how many people are already waiting. - Targeted communication
Makes it easier to send specific notices to those waiting without mixing them with the confirmed list.
Who Is It For?
- Event organizers with limited spots (workshops, lectures, training sessions, in-person courses) who already use EventON with the RSVP Addon.
- Cultural production companies, educational institutions, and clubs that need to maintain a structured waitlist after capacity is reached.
- Teams that run several simultaneous events on WordPress and want to centralize confirmed and waiting guests in the same dashboard.
Designed for those who manage RSVPs with fixed capacity in EventON, the module turns sold-out spots into a lead-capture opportunity by maintaining an active queue and processing cancellations without intervention. For workshops, training sessions, corporate meetings, and in-person courses with limited capacity, the component eliminates parallel spreadsheet tracking and keeps the entire cycle (registration, waiting, promotion, communication) within the plugin’s own dashboard.

Automatic updates: this item is updated by the Ultrapack Auto Updater. With it installed, the new version shows up in your dashboard like any other WordPress update (how to set it up).
This item is an add-on for the EventON – WordPress Event Calendar plugin. Installed on its own it throws no error, but it does not work either.
- Install and activate the EventON – WordPress Event Calendar plugin before this one.
- Download the file
eventon-rsvp-waitlist.zip. - In the WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.

eventon-rsvp-waitlist.zip, click Install Now and then Activate.
- Both stay active at the same time. Deactivating the EventON – WordPress Event Calendar plugin turns this add-on off with it.
- An add-on settings usually show up inside the main plugin screens, not in a menu of their own. If you find nothing new in the dashboard after activating, look there before opening a ticket.
